February is purging month, OK maybe March too because I have soooo much stuff. The reason I started this goal was because of the book I’m reading called “The Happiness Project” by Grethchen Rubin. If you haven’t read it, you really need to get it. She’s got some great advice for each month. She talks about each project using herself and her family as the examples. I am loving it. In her book, January is the energy boosting month and one of the ways to do that is to declutter your space. If you want to buy it for cheaper, go to Amazon.ca and buy it used. After all, it’s not something you’re going to treasure forever. So, save your money and get it used.
Do you know what purging means? For some, it may mean puking up what you just ate, but that’s not what I am talking about. I’m referring to getting rid of things you either no longer use, or are holding on to because it might come back, or because you spent money on it. That’s totally me! Holding on to it because I paid money, but the problem with that is it’s taking up space and making me angry because it’s just sitting there.
My glasses were starting to fall apart because I manage to hit my face somehow. I know when I’m tired I smack into doors, but not always. And, they are over a year old, so it’s time to get a new pair.
I was talking with a few wonderful ladies after volleyball about glasses and they were mentioning how much theirs cost. Sandra said she had progressives and they cost I think she said $300 just for 1 pair of glasses. Tula said something like she gets 2 pairs for $300, and then I said I just ordered 2 pairs for $33, and that includes shipping and anti-reflective coating. They were shocked, so was I when I found this place. I didn’t believe I would get a good stylish pair of glasses for anything less $100, but I did. In fact, I have bought over 10 pairs from them.
The place I buy from is Zenni Optical. They have frames that are $6.95!!! Just look at the new purple ones I bought for $6.95.
Oh and the fun part about them is I get to customize what I want written on the inside of the arm. I wrote in this pair “You go girl!” Talk about designing my own stile. Did I mention they also come with a case and a clothe.
If you’re looking to save money on glasses, this is the place to do it. I love my glasses and have never been happier with the service too. They arrive in less then 2 weeks as promised.
If you could only see my house right now. It’s a mess! I have clothes sitting on the floor, laundry piled up, dishes that need to get done, and there are files all over my desk, receipts everywhere. I have a Service Ontario bill to pay for my sticker for the car, which I’ve been trying to do all day, but for some reason I can’t get through the website. I think it might be because of Mozilla. Most government departments use Internet Explorer when they create they sites and they don’t test it with other search engines. My goal this year BEFORE August as advised by my friend and Intuitive Numerologist Laura Young said that I need to de-clutter everything in my life from my space, clothes, and relationships. She never mentioned anything about Ma Man…so I think I’ll keep him.lol
OK, so Goal #7 is to de-clutter my house, but that’s a big order. I have sooo MANY things to do. In order for me to not freak out, I am going to start with one pile at at a time, but before I do that I need to write down which rooms I need to work on and what do I need to do.
I tried to add the image, but it wouldn’t work, so I have attached a link to it here.
If you want to learn more about what Laura does, she sends out a monthly newsletter with really great information to help you move forward. If you want to be added to her email, simply email her at Laura Young firstname.lastname@example.org. Or if you ready for a reading, email her and if you wouldn’t mind letting her know that you heard about her from me, that would be great. Thanks.
I’m trying to find fun things to do in Ottawa that are not too pricey and are fun. I like to look for deals or coupons for dates, but when I do a search on Google, they come up with thousands of pages. Then, you have to go to each one because there isn’t one site that contains everything. I wish there was a site that contained ALL the deals and maybe it could be a mobile app? Hint hint for those that like to create apps. I would use this app for sure…if someone created it.
I remember there was a website for online coupons that compiled all the deals online into one location. I can’t remember what it’s called. If you know of it, please share.
I like to try different things to learn, but with so many places to look, I forget where I found the deal or what the place was called. Then I have to go and start my search all over, until now. I am going to use this page to continuously update where I find things. No more trying to find things all over. It will be one click away.
Here you go. Hope it helps you as well.
Groupon (I LOVE IT.)
http://www.wagjag.com/deal/ottawa (not really good deals)
Also, if you have other sites, please share in the comments below. I am always looking for new ideas.
UPDATED: December 15, 2017.
Also, this is NOT for children!
Do you remember the GREAT movie the Bucket List with Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman? I do and it gave me a kick in the pants to make changes.
Is there a list of things you’ve been wanting to do, but never really wrote them down and forgot about them. Then, all of a sudden you ran into someone who talked about a painting class they took and how much fun it was, or maybe you ran into a fun party friend who told you she (you know who you are…lol) she makes homemade wine, and you suddenly remembered these were things you wanted to do. Well, why aren’t you doing them? For me, it was because I put the list aside and forgot about them, but I am reading a book from Jack Canfield called The Success Principles – How to get from where you are to where you want to be. One of the exercises in the book is to write out 101 lists of things you want to do before you die. Well, I went to town on this list, but at one point I couldn’t get past 30. I won’t tell you how to do it. You can get that from the book as it’s really a good book and, you can get it for free from the public library. Ya, they still exist and…FREE books. The best part I like about the library is it forces me to read the book from start to finish in 3 weeks or else if I don’t bring it back in time, I pay a fine PER DAY! No thanks.
Here’s my list and there are now 136 I think and counting.
REMEMBER…this is before you die. NOT get it done in a week.
